I have prayed for 30 years for the perfect mates for my kids. In fact, as you read my blogs, you'll see a pattern in the way we raised them that hopefully prepared them for this perfect mate. I have to admit there were a few errors in judgement early on in my prayers, such as hoping they would marry orphans so I would be their favorite - ok, so maybe I didn't think it through. But after mentally walking through the pain they would have experienced for that to be the case, I quickly changed my mantra to "that I would adore them, and they, me." I think adoration is a noble (and humble) goal. Well, I'm one for one so far! (at least on my part of adoring her). My son is getting married in September to whom I can only describe as the perfect mate. Interesting how those prayers get answered so specifically! She is adorable - the exact completion of our dear son. I am so excited for their future together. It can only get better!
I would love to hear from you about your hopes and dreams for your children, or for your marriage, or just for yourself. Prayers really do get answered and dreams really do come true!

My first blog
I don't know why I'm so nervous. You can't even see me, nor do you know me. This is very new and foreign for me, but isn't that what makes life exciting?
Ok, let's start with the title. Why "The Brown Cordury Sofa"? Because that was supposed to be the title of my first book I was to write about 10 years ago. As you will see, I am a big dreamer, a jack of all trades, and a master of none. But, there is something to be said for my personality. Here I am trying something new, again, as I have so many times. I am a plethera of "snippets" of information from health, to cooking, to marriage, to gardening, to raising just about the greatest kids on earth. I know there are many young couples out there struggling to be marriage partners, parents, bread winners, and professionals in their fields. Write to me and we'll talk. I definitely have the gift of gab. I won't pretend to have all the answeres, no one does, but together we can come up with some pretty great ideas. I'm excited to get started!
